February hasn’t even ended yet, but I feel like I’ve made a major dent in my bank account. Not only have I broken my self-imposed promise to stop buying makeup for three whole months, I’ve also spent more on myself this month than last Christmas. Crazy, right?

I can’t help it though! Look at these amazing stuff! Then tell me if you could stop yourself from buying them too.

Neutrogena Blackhead Eliminating Daily Scrub, Tony Moly Dr. Tony AC Control Cleansing Foam, Etude House Happy Teatime Aloe Tea Cleansing Cream, L’Oreal Hydrafresh Mattifying Gel

Tony Moly Expert Smoothing Primer, Tony Moly Dear Me Blusher, The Face Shop Lovely Me:Ex blusher

Being Asian, I do tend to favor Asian makeup and skincare brands, like Tony Moly, Etude House and The Face Shop. These three are all Korean brands. I think I’m starting to believe the hype about Korean skin being the best. Haha

Two more weeks till my birthday! Can’t wait. :)

Benefit High Beam Highlighter and Benefit blush in Thrrrob. Okay, I’ll come clean. I don’t actually own any makeup from Benefit, but I keep hearing so many good things about the brand. You have me convinced, random makeup bloggers!

Sigma Brush Set. Or any brand of brush set really. I’m not really brand conscious when it comes to brushes (or combs, toothbrushes :P).

Tory Burch Louisa messenger bag. Look at that gorgeous simplicity! That elegant gold chain detail on the strap! I think I died and went to bag heaven when I saw this bag while doing some online research work on makeup. I know I probably won’t get this for my birthday, but I will save up a lot this summer because I won’t be able to rest until I have this.

It’s not that I’m a bag snob, it’s just that I want bags that I can still use ten years from now and pass on to my teenage daughter. While I’ll never be so insane as to buy high-end bags like Chanel or Louis Vuitton, I still can’t stop myself from occasionally buying high street ones from Aldo, Guess, or Topshop. Charles and Keith is also a favorite because they make wearable and easy-to-match bags like the one pictured above.

Albeit a day late, thanks. Happy Valentines! :D

Sometimes I wonder if I’m really a law student. -_-; Saturday free cut. :)

I’d buy these myself but I’m on a self-imposed make-up ban for three months. I tend to go overboard every time I visit Etude House and Tony Moly. -_-;

The best way to take care of your skin is to eat healthy, drink lots of water, and get a lot of sleep. If we’re good friends, you’d know that I don’t eat vegetables, I’m very partial to soda, and I get like three hours of sleep everyday. So that’s three strikes. To make up for these three, I try to get as much exercise I can on my treadmill (while reading :P). I also use a lot of skin care products. I realized the importance of keeping my skin healthy after I started breaking out last year. (Seriously, last year was the worst year ever. I am not even exaggerating.) In addition to the frequent crazy breakouts, I started wearing and buying a lot of make-up (which I will blog about next time) so it became imperative that I have a healthy and clean face to work with.

Here are some of the products I usually use:

L-R Tony Moly pore tightening pack, Tony Moly BB Cream/sunblock, Olay moisturizing cream, L’Oreal Toner. (This picture is also a shameless plug of my very diverse bookshelf haha)

I use the pore-tightening pack twice a week. I know it’s easier to just get biweekly facials because they apply this amazing pore-tightening product after they rid your face of pimples and blackheads. But this way is cheaper and less time-consuming.

I know you’re supposed to apply BB Cream and sunblock everyday. But, gosh, it’s really icky. Good thing I found Tony Moly which has a special line of skin care products for oily skin like mine. Also, never go out of the house without putting sunblock on. That’s my new mantra.

I use the Olay moisturizer after cleaning my face and before going to sleep. They say you should moisturize daily. But sometimes I forget. :P

Toners are weird. I still don’t understand what exactly they’re supposed to do. What happens when you tone? Anyway, this doubles as my make-up remover. So it’s all good.

Marks and Spencer Hand and Nail Cream. Jergens lotion

Okay. Here is one thing I learned in my short foray into the world of skin care. Buy only from those who specialize in that field. If it’s a store that sells clothes and they suddenly started selling lotions and creams, chances are they have no idea what they’re getting into. However, you’d be surprised that some actually succeed in their risky ventures. I use this hand and nail cream at least once a day. It really works!

This Jergens lotion is originally a gift from an aunt who works in Riyadh. I used to ignore this in favor of my default Body Shop moringa lotion. Then I noticed that the scent doesn’t last all day and I have to reapply after I take my lunch. So I switched to this. Seriously, I have like thirty minutes to take my lunch. I’m not going to waste it applying lotion!

When it comes to things like makeup and skin care products, you really get what you pay for. Never scrimp on things that go on your face. Sa ibang bagay na lang magtipid. Your skin will thank you one day.

I realize that I have like one reader. So I’m kind of abusing my almost-private space by posting random things like this. Para di naman puro drama haha
